Crimean Military and Historical Festival to be Held In Sevastopol

25 July, 2014

A large-scale tour into the past will take place at the territory of Fedyukhin heights by the village of Pervomayka. By forecast, the event will bring together more than 50 thousand viewers. The festival organizers plan to reconstruct all epochs – ranging from the Scythians, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Ancient Russia and complete with Crimean and the Great Patriotic War.

Nearly 1000 re-enactors from different regions of Russian Federation will come to the festival.

The festival space is going to be conditionally divided into historical sites that will reflect all epochs in the history of Crimea. "Middle Ages" and "New Age" will become the main sites. At the sites one may visit master classes on blacksmithing and pottery, weaving, wood processing and other traditional crafts.

For all who want to try their hands archery and crossbow shooting ranges will operate, training on how to handle medieval weapons will be offered, too.

The Ministry of culture of Russian Federation and Russian military and historical society will be coordinators of the project that will take place for the first time from September 9 to 14, 2014.

For reference:
The slopes of Fedyukhin heights were the place of fierce fighting between Russian and French armies on August 4, 1855, at the day of the battle by Chernorechensk.
